Why you need a pocket router?

I have heard someone say that you should have a pocket router when your house or office is not too far from each other. But there are many reasons why they can’t use a large router or if you want to make multiple connections, you need to choose which one is most suitable for your home. So let us start with the main reason “mobile data is very poor in my home” so I bought a second version of HP EliteBook and the only big disadvantage it has is that it is connected only by an ethernet cable and it does not support wireless data transfer. So I connect two different computer at home and then after that I open HP software and they said all my USBs and DVD-ROM in windows system. I turn on firewall and that’s also the reason it is connection issue. So I think its possible to solve it by using a small PC system like Nokia K800 or Lenovo ThinkPad M365 instead. This PC works with both android and ios without any error and the only drawback is it has no hard drive. The only advantage is a battery life.

What Is a Pocket Router?

Pocket Router means a small portable gadget that acts as an internet access point in your house or in the garden. It uses WiFi (wireless) to offer internet connectivity in a particular area and provides wireless security to protect your home and your family network. If you are looking for something to provide quick access to social media or video streaming, browse the web and play games as well. There are a lot of good pocket routers out there, some are more expensive than others. These include the following:

A pocket-sized tower Wi-Fi hotspot that can be used directly or through a local server network.

A portable home gateway (also known as a gateway).

A compact desktop computer to keep running your business or home workstation even if you don’t have much space on your desk.

So lets look at those advantages and disadvantages for each use case.

1. To use in areas where you don’t have access to Internet access

Many people prefer their own personal wi-fi hotspots. For example, a cafe in a town centre is best for people who live near to different cafes. When you use these special Wi-Fi services for accessing your laptop and tablet device like Chrome or Apple Safari, the connection between your PC and your Android device will be stable.

2. To improve your performance and speed without having to take a big investment

You won’t see a difference with a simple Ethernet cable because the router doesn’t share information with nearby computers, so your computer doesn’t lag and it improves overall performance.

3. Your phone data may go haywire.

Mobile data is always faster on smartphones and laptops compared to older phones and older wired networks, so when your Wi-Fi device is offline during normal usage, it will slow down your download speeds. And sometimes, the connection in your internet café is unstable, and it can break your Wi-Fi connection altogether.

4. You don’t need a whole new computer

If everything works fine in your current setup, then a smaller model of notebook computer is enough to get the job done right.

5. Don’t worry about storage

You can enjoy browsing and downloading websites without worrying about how much space you have.

6. Smartphone notifications

If you use another wireless gadget (for example, a smart watch) to check your emails during office hours, then you won’t find yourself worried about that the device will crash.

7. Avoid long waits.

If your smartphone is out of charge, then you can have internet on your wrist anytime. During office hours, you won’t miss your appointment because you have the latest news and updates to check in your workstation.

8. No hardware needed

To set up a wireless network, you don’t need extra equipment like cables, routers or switches. One major advantage is that it is easy to connect things like laptops or tablets and wireless networks like Google Wi-Fi and Hotspot so you can go wherever you want without worrying about missing work or going into a public place. All you need is a PC and a few cables.

9. More energy efficient

A compact mobile wifi-hotspot such as a small cube will consume less power than a huge tower WiFi hub which makes setting up wifi in your basement a breeze. Similarly, you won’t need to plug a bulky broadband modem into a wall socket.

10. No matter where you are

Just imagine if you were able to run a tiny laptop in your hallway. What would you do? Probably you would buy one and run it with your internet access. And what if they had a Wi-Fi router? Maybe you’d try setting up a mini hotspot like this one

11. Use in remote locations/databases and servers

This kind of internet service is useful for everyone, especially those working online via remote servers or in small offices. In addition, it helps to save a little bit of money on internet access when your Wi-Fi isn’t working.

12. Protect your privacy

You know how dangerous cybercriminals can be, and hackers are constantly creating viruses every day online. Many businesses pay for protection against malware just because they can monitor who’s visiting their network by tracking IP addresses and email, so you can be safe if your account gets compromised. Also, you don’t need to worry about who is sending the malware because you already have a strong and secure virtual private network. By using a hidden VPN, you can prevent anyone from knowing the true source of your internet traffic.

13. Keep your employees happy

Some companies use handheld devices such as iPads or iPhones for giving out company intranets and company email accounts and web access. Sometimes employees working in remote areas don’t have Wi-Fi network, so their communication will get interrupted so that may happen in case of emergencies, meetings and other stuff. But with a dedicated line, you don’t need to worry. Just call any one of your employees and you can manage them remotely.

14. Create more opportunities

If you are able to provide internet access for everybody around your home, then you can create numerous possibilities for everyone. Whether it’s making website changes or downloading important files from Microsoft Office, you can easily complete your tasks and make your company more successful. With the help of a cheap router, you can get that connection anywhere in your house.
